Bio/Background of the Speakers:

ConnOTA community of practice members are OT practitioners who are actively working in home care, who have worked in home care, or are seeking to work in home care.  Members bring their expertise and skillset as well as questions and a strong desire to use social learning theory to learn, share, and pool knowledge.

Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:

This hour-long presentation and discussion will allow participants to:

1. Learn about various certifications that an occupational therapy practitioner can obtain.

2. Share resources, knowledge, and experiences related to the benefits of obtaining advanced certifications.

3. Cost and time commitment needed to be certified.

Summary of Event: 

1. We will start with an informal check-in and welcome new members.

2. Members will share what advanced certifications they have or are interested in.

3. If any member is willing to share if their employer paid for the certification or if they received a pay increase for obtaining said certification.

4. Develop a list of certifications that will enhance OT practice.

5. We will continue to plan our topics and schedule every three weeks.
