Bio/Background of the Speakers:

ConnOTA community of practice members are OT practitioners who are actively working in home care, who have worked in home care, or are seeking to work in home care. Members bring their expertise and skillset as well as questions and a strong desire to use social learning theory to learn, share, and pool knowledge.

Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:

This hour-long presentation and discussion will allow participants to:
1. Discuss the future of OT and innovative practices. Where do we want to be? How do we get there?
2. To become familiar with AOTA’s Vision 2025 (2017) to increase “health, well-being, and quality of life for all people, populations, and communities through effective solutions that facilitate participation in everyday living”.
3. Incorporate the Vision into our home care practices through the strategic principles of “Transform, Advocate, and Build”.

Summary of Event: 

1. We will start with an informal check-in and welcome new members.
2. Members will share their effective strategies and perspectives on the above learning objectives.
3. We will continue to plan our topics and schedule every three weeks.
