Bio/Background of the Speakers:

ConnOTA community of practice members are OT practitioners who are actively working in home care, who have worked in home care, or are seeking to work in home care.  Members bring their expertise and skillset as well as questions and a strong desire to use social learning theory to learn, share, and pool knowledge.

Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:

This hour-long presentation and discussion will allow participants to:

1. Learn what training is needed/recommended to perform a Start of Care (SOC)

2. Be aware of what AOTA has to offer to facilitate successful SOC

3. How to assess resources for medication reconciliation, coding, and other areas OTs would like support in.

Summary of Event: 

1. We will start with an informal check-in and welcome new members.

2. Members will share their concerns and excitement about performing SOC.

3. Facilitator will pool resources and summarize findings and pass onto group members.

4. We will continue to plan our topics and schedule every three weeks.

This event is sponsored by Connecticut occupational therapy practitioners. ConnOTA is supporting this event by overseeing the award of CEUs for registered participants.
