Summary of Event:
Title: The Aging Workforce
As retirement patterns shift and more older adults remain in the workforce, it is essential to address their unique needs through thoughtful ergonomics and workplace modifications. The increase in employment among older individuals highlights the importance of creating age-friendly environments that support both financial stability and social engagement. Implementing inclusive design principles, accommodating individual needs and leveraging complementary skills can enhance job satisfaction and overall well-being.
Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- State the three main areas that facilitate pre-and post-retirement tasks.
- Identify the reasons why older adults continue to work past retirement age.
- Understand how inclusive design can adapt environments for the unique aspects of aging
- Acquire recommendations that organizations should consider when enhancing their age-related workforce.
Bio/Background of the Speakers:
