Summary of Event:
Title: Therapeutic Use of Drumming This interactive presentation introduces group rhythm making as a meaningful, occupation-based intervention within occupational therapy practice. Participants will explore how facilitated drumming and rhythm activities address key OT domains, including motor coordination, sensory regulation, social participation, and emotional well-being. The presenter will review practical considerations for implementing group rhythm sessions, including instrumentation options, room set-up, and adaptations to support diverse client needs and practice settings. Emphasis will be placed on cost-effective strategies, highlighting affordable instruments, creative alternatives, and budget-friendly solutions to make rhythm-based groups accessible across clinical and community environments. Participants will conclude the session by actively engaging in a group rhythm experience.
