Bio/Background of the Speakers:

ConnOTA community of practice members are OT practitioners who are actively working in home care, who have worked in home care, or are seeking to work in home care.  Members bring their expertise and skillset as well as questions and a strong desire to use social learning theory to learn, share, and pool knowledge.

Learning Objectives Attendees Should Achieve:

This hour-long presentation and discussion will allow participants to:

1. Learn about various “seating systems”, cushions for pressure reducing/positioning, and more customized wheelchairs that can be obtained in the homecare setting.

2. Share resources i.e., vendors, knowledge, and experiences related to wheelchairs and cushions. 

3. Pool…those resources and knowledge and make them easily available to other CoP members

Summary of Event: 

1. We will start with an informal check-in and welcome new members

2. Members will share their effective strategies and resources

3. We will continue to plan our topics and schedule every three weeks.
