ConnOTA Award of Clinical Excellence Nominations extended through February 12, 2023

ConnOTA Award of Clinical Excellence 

Recognizes an OT Practitioner who has demonstrated clinical excellence within the field of Occupational Therapy.

Criteria

  • A minimum of 5 years in clinical practice as an OT Practitioner
  • Recognized by peers as demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Is inspirational to others and is regarded as a role model for Occupational Therapy Practitioners, Occupational Therapy Students and the Clinical Community.

Award Nominations are accepted through February 1st

Award recipients will be announced at the Spring Virtual Conference

All honorees will be provided complimentary registration to the Spring Virtual Conference.

Award Categories

*Award of Merit*

Recognizes individuals who have demonstrated outstanding accomplishments in clinical practice, research, leadership or innovation and whose body of work is considered exemplary and influential by peers. 

Criteria

  • Current ConnOTA Membership
  • Current Connecticut OT Practitioner licensure
  • Evidence of accomplishments that are deemed exemplary and influential in the practice of OT

*Award of Service* 

Recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions in advancing the mission and strategic goals of ConnOTA and/or the practice of occupational therapy in Connecticut through community leadership or advocacy.

Criteria

  • Current ConnOTA Membership
  • Five years of experience as an OT Practitioner
  • Evidence of accomplishments that are deemed exemplary and influential in the practice of OT to include leadership or advocacy within the domain of occupational therapy

*Fieldwork Educator Award*

Recognizes the provision of exceptional fieldwork education by OT Practitioners in fostering the growth and development of future OT Practitioners.

Criteria

  • Current ConnOTA Membership
  • Minimum of three years of practice as a licensed OT Practitioner
  • Minimum of 2 years-experience as a fieldwork educator providing direct supervision to OT/OTA students from an accredited OT or OTA program from the State of Connecticut
  • The nomination must be accompanied by two letters of recommendations written by:
    1.  A Fieldwork Level II student who was supervised by the nominee within 3 academic years of the nomination.
    2.  A peer review from an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant/fieldwork coordinator who can attest to the nominee’s excellence in clinical teaching.

*Emerging Leader Award *

Recognizes students of occupational therapy student or novice practitioner (5 years of experience or less) who have demonstrated outstanding leadership within the profession of OT.

Criteria

  • Current ConnOTA Membership
  • Student: Must be enrolled currently in an occupational therapy (OT/OTA) program within the state
  • Practitioner: Must have been initially licensed within the past 5 years

*Award of Clinical Excellence*

Recognizes an OT Practitioner who has demonstrated clinical excellence within the field of Occupational Therapy.

Criteria

  • A minimum of 5 years in clinical practice as an OT Practitioner
  • Recognized by peers as demonstrating strong leadership skills.
  • Is inspirational to others and is regarded as a role model for Occupational Therapy Practitioners, Occupational Therapy Students and the Clinical Community.
